The Scarab was designed by Ignazio Bernardi, with the technical advice of the best Italian helmet designer.  The result is a very modern and captivating look.

Fiberglass Shell

A very strong fiberglass helmet like the beetle shell.  The Scarab and Rollbar helmet have the same fiberglass shell, using the same technology used in military applications, guaranteeing the highest levels of safety.

Visor

3 colors are available: transparent, brown, mirror.

Sizes

The luxury padding of this helmet can be replaced by different versions that increase or decrease the actual size.  If the helmet does not fit perfectly, we will send a new padding at no additional cost, regardless of where the purchase was made.  The important advantage: you can easily remove the padding to replace it with a new one or simply to wash it.  The size of a helmet always indicates the internal circumference of its padding.  The number therefore refers to the circumference of the head in centimeters.

There are 5 interiors for sizes:

56 (Small)

58 (Medium)

60 (Large)

62 (X Large)

63 (XX Large)

The Scarab helmet is certified only with attached ear defenders or electronic headsets.  We use the best ear defenders on the market and we mount them perfectly onto the helmet.  The advantages of wearing a headset fixed to the helmet the ear cups can be flipped upwards quickly and easily on the ground you can thus hear normally in the air you can ventilate your ears whenever you like.

If customers already have their own headset and they wish to use them with our helmet, we suggest to send us the headset so that we can fit it perfectly to the helmet.  If you have any doubt about the application of the headset, please send us a mail to info@freeflightgear.com

For safety reasons, we do not sell the helmet to pilots who wish to use a conventional arching headset worn under the helmet.  Your head would no longer be well protected!

Certification E.N. 966

The Scarab has been tested by the italian laboratory Newton a company authorized by the Italian Ministry of Transport.  The Solar X is certified only with attached ear defenders or electronic headsets. All our helmets are designed especially for free flight and micro light pilots, in accordance with the European standards (EN 966). 

Our helmets were designed and built specifically to be as light as possible. However they optimize safety for hang glider, paraglider and micro light pilots, as shown by the information above.
